Let me start off by saying that I hate cooking, but you need to do it because going out to eat is expensive and I’m sick of eating sandwiches.  My buddy Rob at work said it’s easy to make so I’m going to give it a go.

Ingredients:

chili

  • 2 lbs of ground meat
  • 2 tbs of vegetable oil
  • 1 med green pepper chopped
  • 1 med onion chopped
  • 1 cup of celery chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 16 oz can diced tomatoes
  • 12 oz of beer
  • Jar of chili sauce
  • 2 tbs chili powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 cans kidney beans

Get a large sauce pot and add the veggie oil, and the chopped veggies. Cook everything in the pot with medium heat until the veggies are tender crisp, sauteed.

Add meat and stir it all together until the meat is brown. Drain off some of the fat/grease if needed.

Add all the other ingredients execept for the beans and let it simmer for 1 hour, slightly bubbling. Add drained kidney beans and then simmer for 45 more minutes. That’s it… it’s pretty simple and doesn’t take a whole lot of talent to cook this, and it beats eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Cavs just one the first game of the playoffs.
