Nike+ 0

Nike+ is pretty much amazing. I could end this post with that statement and it would be legit. I’ve been working on a blackberry app written in java that would do the exact same thing for quite some time now and honestly it’s like trying to reinvent the car compared to what Nike and Apple have done. It records time, calories, playlists, distance, pace, and I believe location if you have a GPS enabled iphone. Nike had an API available on their site but I can’t seem to find it. I’d like to make an Adobe Air app for the desktop so that I wouldn’t have to keep visiting http://www.nikerunning.com which isn’t a hassle, just tedious. I’d also like to dedicate a page to it on my blog, but all I can do at the moment is put a hideous iframe in.

Photobucket, WordPress Gripes, Twitter 0

I’ve always liked the idea of having the images on my site stay on my server. I could easily ramble off urls for any image without thinking. The speed comparison between off site hosting to on is somewhat dramatic for obvious reasons. With that in mind I’ve decided to put all my images on photobucket. The traffic is minimal from my site, and half of it is spam, but it’s still slowing down the rest of my house and that’s getting annoying. The one thing that i’m not fond of is the bandwidth limit that photobucket has with the free service. Paying 10 dollars a year to host my site isn’t bad considering that most services like godaddy charge up to $50 a month after all is said and done. I tried to use Twitter to post to wordpress and it wasn’t as useful as I would have liked. All of the posts came up, but the titles were the first 35ish charecters of the tweet and my posts ended up being flooded by every tweet.
